Not Benedikt Magnússon

Not Benedikt Magnússon – Paul Hodgkinson deadlifts 250 kg for as many reps as possible, which was quite a number in his case.

I have observed that certain facial types keep appearing in people, by which I mean that certain persons looks like other persons.

For example at work there is a fellow who looks like a fellow I used to know.

The same applies to strongmen. At Tom McMutrie’s Inspire Leisure Strongman 2011 in Bognor Regis (21st August 2011) the overall winner was Paul Hodgkinson who looked like 1000-lb deadlifter Benedikt Magnússon.

It seems that certain facial types go with certain body types, so Paul Hodgkinson not only has Benedikt Magnússon’s face but also his body – not the exact same body, of course, but Paul is a big strong fellow rather than having Benni’s face on a skinny body.

I’m sure some anthropologist has grouped these faces in a book somewhere. I blame these face groups on women, apparently they choose a mate who looks like their father which must then lead to lookalikes.

I don’t know of any men of strength who look like me, so it looks like I will have to rely on lifting weights for superstrength.
